Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, by J.K. Rowling - Chapter 4
Bible References:(Spell of the Week) Proverbs 21:23 - Whoever keeps his mouth and his tongue keeps himself out of trouble.
1 Peter 1:4 - and we have a priceless inheritance—an inheritance that is kept in heaven for you, pure and undefiled, beyond the reach of change and decay.
Romans 8:17a - And since we are his children, we are his heirs. In fact, together with Christ we are heirs of God’s glory.
Ecclesiastes 4:9-12 - Two people are better off than one, for they can help each other succeed. If one person falls, the other can reach out and help. But someone who falls alone is in real trouble. Likewise, two people lying close together can keep each other warm. But how can one be warm alone? A person standing alone can be attacked and defeated, but two can stand back-to-back and conquer. Three are even better, for a triple-braided cord is not easily broken.
Ephesians 6:14-17 - Stand your ground, putting on the belt of truth and the body armor of God’s righteousness. For shoes, put on the peace that comes from the Good News so that you will be fully prepared. In addition to all of these, hold up the shield of faith to stop the fiery arrows of the devil. Put on salvation as your helmet, and take the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.

Leviticus 19:18 - You shall not take vengeance or bear a grudge against the sons of your own people, but you shall love your neighbor as yourself: I am the Lord.

A second is equally important: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ The entire law and all the demands of the prophets are based on these two commandments.”
James 1:17 says Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change.
Matthew 5:21-22 - “You have heard that it was said to an older generation, ‘Do not murder,’ and ‘whoever murders will be subjected to judgment. ’But I say to you that anyone who is angry with a brother will be subjected to judgment.”
Matthew 5:27-28 - “You have heard that it was said, ‘Do not commit adultery. ’But I say to you that whoever looks at a woman to desire her has already committed adultery with her in his heart.”

Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone, by J.K. Rowling
Bible References:(Wand of the Week) Colossians 3:23 - Work willingly at whatever you do, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people.
Philippians 3:4-7 - If someone thinks he has good reasons to put confidence in human credentials, I have more: I was circumcised on the eighth day, from the people of Israel and the tribe of Benjamin, a Hebrew of Hebrews. I lived according to the law as a Pharisee. In my zeal for God I persecuted the church. According to the righteousness stipulated in the law I was blameless. I once thought these things were valuable, but now I consider them worthless because of what Christ has done.
Acts 5:29 - But Peter and the apostles answered, “We must obey God rather than men.”
Galatians 1:10 - Obviously, I’m not trying to win the approval of people, but of God. If pleasing people were my goal, I would not be Christ’s servant.
John 15:18-19 - If the world hates you, know that it has hated me before it hated you. If you were of the world, the world would love you as its own; but because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you.
2 Timothy 3:12 - Indeed, all who desire to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted
1 Corinthians 13:4-7 - Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone, by J.K. Rowling - Chapter 17
Bible References:(Wand of the Week) Proverbs 15:1 - A gentle answer deflects anger, but harsh words make tempers flare.
1 John 4:4 - You are from God, little children, and have conquered them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.
Romans 7:18-20 - And I know that nothing good lives in me, that is, in my sinful nature. I want to do what is right, but I can’t. I want to do what is good, but I don’t. I don’t want to do what is wrong, but I do it anyway. But if I do what I don’t want to do, I am not really the one doing wrong; it is sin living in me that does it.
Ephesians 1:13 - And you also were included in Christ when you heard the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation. When you believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit
Luke 17:3 - So watch yourselves! If another believer sins, rebuke that person; then if there is repentance, forgive.

Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone, by J.K. Rowling - Chapter 16
Bible References:(Wand of the Week) 1 Corinthians 13:7 - Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
Acts 1:4-8 says - Once when he was eating with them, he commanded them, “Do not leave Jerusalem until the Father sends you the gift he promised, as I told you before. John baptized with water, but in just a few days you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit.” So when the apostles were with Jesus, they kept asking him, “Lord, has the time come for you to free Israel and restore our kingdom?” He replied, “The Father alone has the authority to set those dates and times, and they are not for you to know. But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. And you will be my witnesses, telling people about me everywhere—in Jerusalem, throughout Judea, in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”
Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 - Two people are better off than one, for they can help each other succeed. If one person falls, the other can reach out and help. But someone who falls alone is in real trouble.
1 Corinthians 12:14-20 - Yes, the body has many different parts, not just one part. If the foot says, “I am not a part of the body because I am not a hand,” that does not make it any less a part of the body. And if the ear says, “I am not part of the body because I am not an eye,” would that make it any less a part of the body? If the whole body were an eye, how would you hear? Or if your whole body were an ear, how would you smell anything? But our bodies have many parts, and God has put each part just where he wants it. How strange a body would be if it had only one part! Yes, there are many parts, but only one body.

1 Timothy 3 - (A detailed list of how to live above reproach)
1 Peter 2:12 - Be careful to live properly among your unbelieving neighbors. Then even if they accuse you of doing wrong, they will see your honorable behavior, and they will give honor to God when he judges the world.
1 Peter 2:15 - It is God’s will that your honorable lives should silence those ignorant people who make foolish accusations against you.

Matthew 5:38-41 - You have heard the law that says the punishment must match the injury: ‘An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth.’ But I say, do not resist an evil person!
