- Bible References:
- (Wand of the Week) Colossians 3:23 - Work willingly at whatever you do, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people.
- Philippians 3:4-7 - If someone thinks he has good reasons to put confidence in human credentials, I have more: I was circumcised on the eighth day, from the people of Israel and the tribe of Benjamin, a Hebrew of Hebrews. I lived according to the law as a Pharisee. In my zeal for God I persecuted the church. According to the righteousness stipulated in the law I was blameless. I once thought these things were valuable, but now I consider them worthless because of what Christ has done.
- Acts 5:29 - But Peter and the apostles answered, “We must obey God rather than men.”
- Galatians 1:10 - Obviously, I’m not trying to win the approval of people, but of God. If pleasing people were my goal, I would not be Christ’s servant.
- John 15:18-19 - If the world hates you, know that it has hated me before it hated you. If you were of the world, the world would love you as its own; but because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you.
- 2 Timothy 3:12 - Indeed, all who desire to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted
- 1 Corinthians 13:4-7 - Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
